We have been learning about abstract art. It’s all about creating works of art that don’t actually look like anything. We focused on the American artist Frank Stella, who liked to make pictures using shapes like circles, triangles and rectangles.

On Friday, we did Play Make Create. This is where the teacher reads you a story and you discuss the message in the story. Then you create something based on the message and also do a piece of writing. You can use materials or make a digital creation. This week Miss B Read the book: I am Peace. It was about how to hold, & control your feelings.
I chose to Make a tree. I cut the top open to put all these worry, feeling notes in the top. For the writing we had to write about how we would feel if you were alone in the middle of the ocean.

Yesterday, for maths we had to read a step by step procedure for making a 3D clock. It was very tricky. We had to measure in centimetres to make equilateral triangles, measure the angles with a protractor to check they were 60 degrees, make a clock face and arrows and tie it all together with string. I was glad when I finished. The clock hands were the hardest part. Here is a picture of my clock.
