Maths Week 3 Term 1 2021

Hi
This week we have been learning that statistics which is the maths of data. Data is information/facts. We collected data using tally charts and then we made bar graphs and dot plot graphs using pen and paper. Then, we used our computers to make graphs except I couldn't do that because my computer was being fixed.
What I liked about statistics was surveying people. I was OK about writing a title for my graphs but I kept forgetting to label my X and y axis. It was hard trying to write about what the graph was showing. I like graphs though because they help you see stuff that you had not thought about before.

Waitangi blog

We are learning about Captian William Hobson and what he was doing to get the Treaty of Waitangi up and running. We learned that Captian William Hobson sailed to the Bay of islands of New Zealand in 1837. He was told that there were lots of wars between the Maori iwi. Captain William Hobson went back to England in 1838 to say that the British should be in charge of New Zealand in 1840. So Captain William Hobson started to write the Treaty of Waitangi with the help of James Freeman and James Busby. Here is a poster what we learnt.
